Still getting closer!

I think we may actually be swimming this weekend... Hopefully they will paint the deck and lay sod tomorrow. Also, the fence should start tomorrow, too!

Getting Close!

It's coming right along. We were surprised (but excited) that they started the tile today. Perhaps we'll have some time in the new pool next weekend!

Pool is Coming Along

The pool is coming right along! The concrete "forms" are in and (if weather cooperates) the concrete deck will be poured in the next couple of days.

Another Tooth!

Luke lost another tooth tonight! This one was less traumatic and he's more excited about the tooth fairy. As he was going to bed there were LOTS of questions (is the tooth fairy a boy or a girl? how does the tooth fairy know where to look? what if it's not under my pillow?).
I thought I'd put this picture in here, too. For my birthday Jen got an "overnight" sitter named Hannah. She did lots of fun things with them and did a collage that we saw when we got home. It was especially neat to see how many fun things she did and to know that we left them with a sitter who truly loves them. (click on the picture to see a larger version; sorry for the blur, it was pretty large and is now hanging on our fridge, but the full size pic didn't come out so good...).

The Pool is Coming!

We've had a great time at the community pool with the kids. The problem is that (especially in the afternoon) it's hard for us to gather all our stuff and get over there and then get back, eat dinner, and get to bed on time. After much deliberation we decided to go for a pool in our backyard!

The hole is dug and the pool is sitting in it. I'll take pictures so everyone can see the progress. This first picture is the view from our kitchen window. On the back side will be a spa with a "spillover". We are going to get a heater in the hopes of making it more "usable" for longer.

The deck is coming out on Wednesday. You can see the spa sitting (upside down) on the other side of the pool.

The Tooth Fairy is Coming to Our House!

It was a BIG night! We played with chalk outside and then started wiggling Luke's loose tooth. There was a "crack" followed by him running around in circles, followed by him pulling it right out. He's *Super* excited about the Tooth Fairy visiting tonight!!!

Labor Day Trip to Sea World

Kendall was quite jealous about the trip Luke and I took to Sea World. Because it was a long weekend, we decided to brave the Labor Day crowds and take the kids back. We were pleasantly surprised at the (lack of) traffic and how well Sea World could accommodate large crowds.

I think Kendall summed up the trip best. Right as we got in the car to come home she asked where we were going. After we told her we were going home, in the sweetest, most pathetic voice ever she said "I don't want to leave Sea World". I guess she had a good time!
